Music for the mind.
Recommended listening Hey now. I am a human of the land known as Canadian, set up in Toronto, and out of sheer boredom, I am posting some recommended listening, just in case you might want to listen to my sorry butt.

It is easy, most of my picks are new music, but some could be a reissue or something I am getting into.

What I am listening to .
THA MUSIC IN MY HEAD My picks for February

R.L Burnside

Rural L. Burnside is from Holly Springs, Mississippi, you may have heard him on Chickendog on Jon Spencer Blues Explosion's Now I got Worry Album. He is a dirty bluesmen who has acceptantly killed 2 men, and drinks enough whiskey to drop a bull moose. His new album is both a studio album, but also has some remixes on it. Atari Teenage Riot rage meister Alec Empire lends a hand, as does Dan The Automater, the boy behind Dr. Octagon. If you like the grint and grind of the blues, get piss drunk turn on some Burnside and get down. This album is a blues album but it makes you wanna move. If you like this too, check out some of Burnside's late neighbour Jr. Kimbourough for some juke joint rockin' blues.

The Roots

Things Fall Apart

The Roots mean so much to Hip Hop purists. Well, they mean something to the twenty-five and up hip hop purist. They represent heads who love hip hop and at point have become so disheartened with it, that they have thought about giving it up, but because it was so much to them they did not. So what did they do, they drop rhymes about the people and MC's who have played Hip Hop the wrong way, the money making way.

SUSHI 4004:The Return of Spectacular Japanese Cluppop

I am not sure how or when I got into Japanese Pop, I think I it must have been Pizzacato Five, which I could listen to for about ten minutes until it drove me insane. When this interest peaked I downloaded some Buffalo Daughter off the net, then bought their first album, Captain Vapour Athletes. Then I saw them live, and through their sheer grooviness BD turned me onto Japanese music. I bought a Cornelius album, and then some compilations, the best being Sushi 3003. Now out is Sushi 4004, if you want to check out Japan's sounds, or more specifically Shibuya, get this record. Some standout tracks are those by Kahimi Karie, produced by Konishi from Pizzacato Five, and Takako Minekawa with a very Atari, bleepy track called "Fantastic Cat". Corneluis is on here, and a cool track by a poppy band called Hi-POsi. Get it if you like the experimental, with some straight pop thrown in.
